The IBF executive committee developed a strategy document the purpose of which is to develop a seamless talent pathway which will increase not only the quantity but the quality of bowlers capable at succeeding at the highest levels in the sport
“ For the Irish Bowling Federation to consistently achieve medals at major Junior and Senior Games/ including British, European, Commonwealth, and World Championships.”
- Increase the quantity and quality of talented bowlers from NI.
Target: To implement a development programme for schools, youth and players exiting from other sports by 2015/16.
- To improve the quality and quantity of senior and staff coaches working in bowls in NI
Target: Double the amount of staff and senior coaches by 2017.
- To develop a seamless and transparent talent pathway for all constituent organisations of the IBF.
Target: Talent Pathway to be developed by 2015.
The IBF have appointed two Talent Development Officers (TDO’s) to work towards and achieve the above Strategic Goals.
